Why I Get It – My Journey
I know what it is like to feel completely drained and isolated in a medical maze, dealing with yet another disappointment, after investing my rainy-day fund in yet another chronic fatigue (CFS) recovery programme.

I spent 17 years in an on-off Chronic Fatigue cycle, with periods being wheelchair-bound and housebound. After being misdiagnosed with bipolar and medically gaslighted.  I now know that undiagnosed autism led to burnout and learning how to have a compassionate approach to AuDHD (Autism & ADHD), was the most powerful way out, alongside key trainings in intergenerational trauma, Internal Family Systems (IFS), embodiment and neuroscience, that can have revolutionary impact on your nervous systemonly way out. Now, I am here to share what I have learned, so you don’t have to go through years of trial and error.

The Helper’s Helper
People often call me the “helper’s helper” because I’m all about supporting those who spend their lives supporting others. I’m a dementia carer, carer’s champion and aunty to 4 beautiful children. I’m not here to push you into a one-size-fits-all solution—I’m here to listen and to identify what makes you feel seen, felt and heard, so your brain and nervous system support you to vibrant health. (which doesn’t mean always being balanced, and regulated and includes a place for grief and anger.)

Hey there! I’m Aine, the helper’s helper! 

Life can get seriously overwhelming, especially if you’re a neurodivergent carer or a frontline worker in your 40s. You’ve been everyone’s superhero, but now, after some unexpected health curveballs, which forced you into a ‘health break’ the thought of returning to work might feel like facing another mountain. You crave the structure and tangible outcomes of work without juggling the needs of your team, your parents, and the housework! That’s where I come in! I’m here to help you turn that overwhelm into something manageable.

As an accredited neuroscience-based wellbeing coach, I love to cross-pollinate pioneering techniques in trauma processing, sensory integration and legal frameworks affecting disability in the workplace. I’m very geeky about this because you need to trust that you can make informed choices about your career and health, with a full picture of all the strands of support you are entitled to. 

I have road-tested every single evidence-based chronic fatigue (CFS) recovery programme. For over 20 years, I’ve been a national lead in mental wellbeing in the workplace, supporting frontline workers to develop kindness to themselves and to recognise and interrupt patterns of fight, flight, freeze or fawn. My natural pattern-spotting skills mean that I have had a successful career researching the best in wellbeing techniques and communicating these to NHS teams, MIND, Bipolar UK and teams at Network Rail, Sussex Police and the University of Brighton. 

I have trained over 4k people, from psychiatrists to hairdressers in effective self-care that has an immediate impact, so I can work with you 1:1 to tailor a daily wellbeing plan that is private, personal and portable to any environment. If you are worried about your first conversation with your line manager after an absence – I can practice this with you and give you tools, scripts and templates to melt this iceberg.   

I coordinated the UK’s first mental health workplace training for the Police, Fire and Ambulance services and Sport England, so I am used to busting low expectations around mental health and mastering awkward conversations with line managers, teams, and HR. I will use whatever language about your health that feels empowering for you and I am used to getting people out of medical mazes!
